Did you know…

… that in whole Pannonian plain only two dry mills have been preserved, and one of them still stands in Kikinda. These kinds of mills were driven by horses. Such mills were already in use in the ancient Rome. The oldest records of them being used in Vojvodina date back in the year 1740. The existing dry mill in Kikinda was built in 1899. It was actively used up until 1945, and since 1951 it stands under the protection of the state.
